Specifically, the EPDA:
- is the advocate for the rights and needs of 1.2 million PwPs and their families in Europe
- aims to raise awareness to ensure that all PwPs and their families have access to the right management and the right treatment at the right time
- is a non-political, non-religious and non-profit-making umbrella organisation for European Parkinson’s patient organisations
- its vision is to enable PwPs a full life while supporting the search for a cure
By working with its member organisations (MOs), the EPDA aims to:
- ensure equal access to good quality Parkinson’s care across Europe by raising standards and reducing inequalities
- promoting a constructive dialogue between science and society i.e. education and awareness
- encourage and support the development of national Parkinson’s organisations throughout Europe.
This Partnership Agreement provides the opportunity for organisations to work together with the EPDA to achieve its strategic direction throughout the next five years (see link).
The EPDA relies on partnership for the continuation of its operations. In order to ensure its independence, the EPDA does not accept donations that are dependent on policies set by others. The EPDA Board exercises care that funding does not condition its priority setting and strategic direction. The EPDA partners with companies and organisations of high standing and reputation and all transactions must be transparent to the EPDA as well as to prospective partners and donors.

- Organisations that have products/services in the area of human healthcare intended for end users and support the objectives of the EPDA.

Ethical Standards
- Relationships between the EPDA and its industrial and any other partners are based on equal partnership. Both sides will work together on policy development and practical initiatives, in the interests of all the member organisations and the overall EPDA strategic direction
- Successful partnerships are those where both partners gain by making the effort to understand the internal culture and external pressures of the other
- Partners may not represent the EPDA as an endorser of any specific product or service, nor should any partnership between the EPDA and a corporation in any way imply the EPDA’s endorsement of a corporation, its products or its services.
For reasons of transparency, EPDA will publicly acknowledge all partners support in EPDA publications, web site, media announcements, and events where appropriate.
