Partnership Agreement

The EPDA was founded in June 1992, in Munich, with a membership of 9 European Parkinson's Patient organisations. Fifteen years later, its membership has increased to 39 to include:

Our member organisations represent over 100,000 people with Parkinson’s and their families. It also has 7 Associate members, including the Movement Disorder Society, the European Federation of Neurological Association, and the Tremor Foundation.

During this time, a unique partnership bringing together patient organisations, science and industry has been formed by developing a constructive dialogue between science and society and by encouraging and supporting the development of national PD organisations to promote international understanding of Parkinson’s. This Partnership Agreement provides the opportunity for your organisation to become closely linked with the EPDA, its members, mission and objectives, while at the same time raising your profile and credibility in a Europe that is increasingly concerned about the importance of health and the current state of healthcare provisions.

The EPDA relies on partnership for the continuation of its operations. In order to ensure its independence, the EPDA does not accept donations that are dependent on policies set by others. The EPDA Board exercises care that funding does not condition its priority setting, the mission, messages, or any other activities of the organisation, thereby ensuring the independence of the EPDA to carry out its mission and objectives. The EPDA will only partner with companies and organisations of high standing and reputation and all partnership relationships must be transparent to the EPDA and its membership, its key stakeholders, as well as to prospective partners and donors.

Levels of Partnership

The level of partnership is determined by the amount of core funding, financial support for individual projects and resources provided.

The benefits, terms, and conditions of each category of partnership are detailed below. The EPDA Board will review these terms and conditions annually and revise them as deemed appropriate.

Ethical Standards

All partnerships established between the EPDA and partners must reinforce the EPDA’s overall mission and work, and support the integrity of the organisation. Partnerships should be established on the basis of shared interest, transparency, trust, and mutual benefit. Partners may not represent the EPDA as an endorser of any specific product or service, nor should any partnership between the EPDA and a corporation in any way imply the EPDA’s endorsement of a corporation, its products or its services.

For reasons of transparency, all partners will be publicly acknowledged by the EPDA. Corporate support may be acknowledged in EPDA publications, web site, media announcements, and events.
