Parkinson’s Association of Ireland

About us

The Parkinson’s Association of Ireland started operations in Ireland in 1987 and we have a National Office, based in Dublin, and fourteen branches throughout the country. We are a largely volunteer led organisation with one full-time staff member, our CEO Joe Lynch, and two part-time staff, Helpline Manager Pauline Mahady and Parkinson’s Nurse Alison Cashell. We receive no government funding and rely wholly on the generosity of the general public and our members to finance our charitable operations. The organisation provides support and information on the disease and coping strategies through publications, online web content, a helpline that is manned from 9am – 9pm Monday to Friday and regular meetings throughout Ireland.
