One of the EPDA’s biggest political supporters has praised the first ever European Unity Walk, which is now just two weeks away.
Linda McAvan MEP has backed the EPDA and its initiatives a great deal over the past 12 months – especially in the European Parliament. Not only has she publicly endorsed The European Parkinson’s Disease Standards of Care Consensus Statement since its launch in the Parliament in November 2011, she also signed the EPDA’s Pledge for Parkinson’s and became a member of its MEP Support Network in April.
Now she has spoken out in favour of the Unity Walk. “As the Socialists and Democrats spokesperson on the European Parliament’s Public Health Committee, I send the warmest greetings to all the participants of the EPDA’s first European Unity Walk,” she said.
“Although I am not able to join you in Amsterdam I am committed to working with you to ensure that people living with this progressive, chronic and complex neurodegenerative disease are treated effectively and equally throughout Europe.”
Her public endorsement follows other high-profile European policymaker backing of the event.
