Description
EFGCP Workshop
Further information
This workshop, the fifth in a series, is designed to explore the differences that might exist between research ethics committees and investigators/sponsors of research projects on the one hand, and among research ethical reviews across Europe on the other hand. The workshop will give an opportunity for these difficulties to be freely discussed by the participants who might represent research ethics committees, sponsors and investigators and will hopefully lead to some conclusions as to how best these difficulties should be addressed or even avoided.

The workshop will begin with a keynote address on a theme appropriate for the environment in which it is being held and will then be followed by three case-based discussions, introduced by persons closely involved in the cases to be featured. There will therefore be plenty of opportunities for interactive dialogue and the workshop will conclude with the results of a survey among 24 European REC on the review of the same study.

Attendance will be limited to approximately 40 participants. It is hoped that research ethics committee members, researchers and sponsors will all be equally represented.
