ParkinsonNet trial reveals benefits of substantially reduced health-care costs compared with usual-care treatment
The community-based professional network (ParkinsonNet) trial involved training of a selected number of expert physiotherapists to work according to evidence-based recommendations. Structured referrals to these trained physiotherapists to increase the numbers of patients they treated during the course of the trial indicated that a ParkinsonNet network provides an improved quality of care at substantially reduced costs compared with usual-care networks.
