α-Synuclein and Neuronal Cell Death
In this review, authors will focus on αSyn-triggered neuronal cell death and provide possible disease-modifying therapies targeting abnormally accumulating αSyn.

Neuroinflammation and oxidative stress: Co-conspirators in the pathology of Parkinson's disease
This review will discuss neuroinflammation in PD, with particular focus on the genetic and toxin-based models of the disease. These studies have confirmed elevated oxidative stress and the pro-inflammatory response occurs early in the disease and these processes contribute to and/or exacerbate the nigro-striatal degeneration. In addition, the experimental models discussed here have also provided strong evidence that these pathways are an important link between the familial and sporadic causes of PD.

Exercise attenuates levodopa-induced dyskinesia in 6-hydroxydopamine-lesioned mice
l-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (l-DOPA) alleviates the motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease (PD), but its long-term use is associated with underirable dyskinesia. Authors now tested whether exercise can attenuate these l-DOPA-induced dyskinesia (LID).

Major life events and development of major depression in Parkinson's disease patients
Conclusions: Life events play an important role for onset of depression in patients with PD; an effect that seems to be modulated by social support and coping capacities and these factors may therefore be important to assess in order to identify patients with PD at high risk of depression and provide effective interventions.

Somatosensory temporal discrimination threshold may help to differentiate patients with multiple system atrophy from patients wi
The aim of the study was to investigate whether the extent of STDT alterations differs between patients with parkinsonian type multiple system atrophy (MSA-P) and patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). Possible differences between the two groups may help to differentiate MSA-P from PD.

Attenuated neural response to gamble outcomes in drug-naive patients with Parkinson's disease
The results show that the core regions of the meso-cortico-limbic dopaminergic system, including the ventral tegmental area, ventral striatum, and medial orbitofrontal cortex, are already significantly compromised in the early stages of the disease and that these deficits cannot be attributed to the contaminating effect of dopaminergic treatment.

Extended-release carbidopa-levodopa in Parkinson's disease
Levodopa with carbidopa is undoubtedly the gold standard of treatment for Parkinson's disease. But an initial spectacular benefit with this drug, known as the honeymoon period, is often compromised within a few years by the occurrence of disabling on-off fluctuations and dyskinesia.

Progressive changes in a recognition memory network in Parkinson's disease
In a previous functional MRI (fMRI) study, the authors found that patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) presented with dysfunctions in the recruitment of recognition memory networks. They aimed to investigate the changes in these networks over time.

Parkinson's disease: an update on pathogenesis and treatment
This review aims to highlight the most relevant updates in the PD field, with emphasis on research that may help lead towards an improvement in the treatment of this condition.

Transcranial sonography in patients with Parkinson's disease with glucocerebrosidase mutations
Conclusions TCS findings in GBA-associated PD were consistent to those of patients with sporadic PD.
