Background

Founded in June 1992 in Munich, with a membership of nine European Parkinson's patient organisations, the EPDA currently has a membership of 45 organisations across Europe, see www.epda.eu.com/members.

It also has 7 Associate members including the Movement Disorder Society, the European Federation of Neurological Associations, the Association of Physical Therapists for Europe and the Tremor Foundation.

It is a non-political, non-religious, and non-profit making organisation concerned with the health and welfare of people living with Parkinson's disease and their families, across Europe and internationally.  The organisation continually strives to be at the forefront of development and innovation, and to this end, the EPDA board have taken a strategic decision to develop the content and style of the EPDA Plus magazine to reflect the interests of its extended membership.

Partnership for Progress - ‘Promoting a constructive dialogue between science and society’

The EPDA achieves its success through combining the strengths and experiences of its partners. It has provided an important forum to work in collaboration with European organisations, both patient and neurological, the European Commission, the World Health Organisation, the World Federation of Neurology, and the treatments industry. This partnership has enabled the development of research projects into quality of life issues, and conferences for multidisciplinary teams and people with Parkinson's of any age.

What people are saying...

“The EPDA Plus magazine we received was absolutely magic.  I have never seen anything like it, in particular the article UNMASKING THE TRUTH. This was just so powerful and accurate it amazed me. I have never read such an accurate description of a PWP.

Your Magazine is always so helpful as unfortunately we do not have anything that deals with issues like you do. I look forward to your next one. You have brought a ray of sunshine into our lives with all your wonderful information.”
