GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Impax Pharmaceuticals, announces agreement for the development and commercialisation of IPX066, Impax's novel extended release carbidopa-levodopa product, outside the United States and Taiwan. IPX066, an investigational product under development for the treatment of Parkinson's Disease (PD), is currently in Phase III clinical trials.

Sensidose: Successful clinical studies of the treatment of Parkinson's disease with microtablets
Sensidose AB in Uppsala, Sweden, has developed a system for individual dosing of drugs in tablet form. The system includes an electronic dosing device for drugs given in the form of microtablets, and functions for the registration of symptoms.

European Medicines Agency Management Board adopt new policies on handling of conflicts of interests and on access to documents
The board endorsed the new EMA policy on handling of conflicts of interests, introducing a more efficient, robust and transparent process ensuring that scientific committee members and experts participating in the Agency's activities have no interests in the pharmaceutical industry which could affect their impartiality.
