The European
Parkinson’s Disease Association (EPDA) are currently assisting Oxford Outcomes,
a research consultancy working for GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), in conducting
research to understand the impact of the disease on people with Parkinson’s and
their partners and carers and exploring medication issues.
People with
Parkinson’s and family members or friends who live with someone who has
Parkinson’s (carers) in the UK or in Spain are invited to take part in a
confidential interview as part of this research. People with Parkinson’s will
be interviewed at their home or another convenient place, with the interview
lasting for no more than 1 hour. Interviews with carers will take place over
the telephone and last about 45 minutes.
We will be interviewing
a broad range of people with Parkinson’s who are in the early or later stages
of Parkinson’s, carers and treating doctors. Topics discussed in the interviews
will not be relevant to people who have been newly diagnosed or who are in the
more advanced stages of the disease. Individuals who are interested in taking
part in an interview will be asked a few screening questions to check their
eligibility for this research.
If you participate
in this research, you will be reimbursed for your time. Details will be
provided upon application.
If you are interested in taking part or finding
out more about this research please call or email Charlotte Howard at Oxford Outcomes.
