The city of Mumbai was the setting for the launch of the
Global declaration on PD. It is the commercial capital
of India; a vibrant city, cosmopolitan and multicultural.
It is a city where modern high-rise buildings stand alongside
beautiful gothic structures like the Prince of Wales Museum,
University of Bombay & the CST terminus (Victoria
terminus). The city is brimming with exciting markets,
shopping malls and also has beautiful beaches and other
fun destinations.
The venue was The Taj Mahal Hotel (celebrating its centenary
year). The event was organised by the Parkinson's Disease
and Movement Disorder Society (India) and co-sponsored
by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and The
Movement Disorder Society.
